Article: Wilderness Walk: Draft Lottery Will Decide Some Fates

Recommended Posts

Wild didn't have too much trouble with Seattle this season. Interesting to see how matchups work out. I really thought if the Wild could get past Dallas, Ek would return and the Wild would get a boost against COL or SEA.

Will be tough to watch Seattle go to the WCF knowing the Wild has what appeared to be a doable path. More so than when they faced CHI or STL when those teams always had the Wild's number head to head.

Well said. Same goes for Bruins/Panthers, Panthers/Leafs, and Avs/Kraken. Matchup matters. I firmly believe Panthers are white hot after upsetting the Bruins. The confidence they have is unmatched; the only team to beat them is themselves. It doesn’t matter if it’s Toronto, Tampa, or New Jersey on them, I would say.

Kraken will score on all lines, meaning teams that rely on specific players or lineups will be exposed, especially if said lines or players are not performing well.

If the Avs, Bruins, or Leafs had different matchups this year, the story would be wholly different.

The Wild clearly are the inferior team against many of the playoff teams this year, but it would have been interesting if they had drawn the Kraken or Oilers this year. Still probably would’ve lost

Chicago with the lottery win? Really.... Ugh. Is the league even trying to hide favoritism at this point? Guess we get to look forward to years of Connor Bedard just like we did with Kane and Towes.

Pretty sure I called this like halfway through the season and everyone was like, 'Nooooooooo... the NHL wouldn't reward an organization that's been a piece of shit recently so soon!'

Really should have been CBJ getting the pick. They've been more royally screwed then we have in the last 20 years. I think they've only made the playoffs once in actual division (non-wildcard) out of like five or six total appearances since their inception.

Not even a tiny bit surprised the NHL rigs the draft for NY, LA, and CHI. What else is new? Can't give the lottery pick to TOR or EDM anymore so it was pretty obvious it's going to CHI. I mean what was everyone saying for months? Ope, looks like CHI will get another one.

MN and CBJ just plugging away with stoic Midwestern work ethic while refs, league, and deck stacked against.
