Article: Kaprizov vs. Robertson Is the Biggest Matchup In Wild Playoff History

This is awesome. Their rookie seasons it was a head to head battle with both players keeping a steady pace. #97 won the Calder but is an older player.

Dallas has a great player in Robertson. This series will be interesting to see them go against one another again. It's a pretty evenly matched series.

Minnesota's defense has a huge task to stop Dallas or Colorado forward groups.

To me, I think there are a couple of key things in this series that the Wild need to do

  1. age, looking at the Stars lineup, they have experience, a lot of it.  Make these players look old and tired.
  2. forecheck, make the Dallas defense retrieve and get hammered, especially Heiskanen.
  3. don't be afraid to hit hard like happened last year.

There's no doubt that Dallas, on paper, has the better offense.  I think our defense, specifically with Brodin, and possibly with Faber could neutralize this.

I also think that coaches should be listening to Klingberg about team weaknesses. He was there for a long time, even if he's hurt he has valuable intelligence!

Do not let Benn do Benn things when he gets frustrated.  Reavo-this is your responsibility. Don't ask him to go, just go. If he doesn't respond, which I've never seen him do, it will get in his head.

I'm not too concerned about Ek not going early in the series.  I'd be happy with a split in Dallas, and I think that can be accomplished.  I'd prefer to get the 1st one and play Wednesday night with house money.

Lastly, Dean Evason has got to be better.  He is 0-professional coaching career in playoff series. It's past time for him to get puck luck, but he's got to make the moves and be quick to counter whatever Dallas does.
