Another game goes by for the Minnesota Wild and another loss that causes some existential crises. The Wild have earned four points in their last seven games. That is a staggering .285 points percentage -- a streak that teams that are purposely trying to lose games would be jealous of.
The latest happened on Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils. Matt Boldy returned and we saw some offense going but it was a night full of mistakes and costly errors that put the Wild back too far to try and make a comeback from a multi-goal deficit.
After the game, fingers were being thrown around and the blame was laid on multiple players.
Kirill Kaprizov -- who did not look himself as he turned the puck over several times -- said to put the loss on him.
Ryan Hartman aptly said that the team needs to "figure our s--t out," putting it on the whole team, spreading it evenly.
Filip Gustavsson didn't have any catchy quotes after the loss, but his recent streak of play has been abhorrent. Something certainly last year's netminder would be nowhere near. This is the player that the Senators saw before dealing him to Minnesota.
There are clearly multiple options to blame.
We did get some interesting things happening during the game though. Marco Rossi was promoted to a new top line with Kaprizov and Boldy. We have no idea if this will stick for Saturday's game against the New York Rangers, but it is certainly loading up one line to try and make some magic.
