    That's Wild

    • Brandon Duhaime was one of the less risky restricted free agents that the Minnesota Wild had remaining contractless this summer, but nevertheless, the team bucked down and avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year deal on the weekend. [Hockey Wilderness]
    • Now, the Wild have a sliver of cap space remaining for other RFA's like Calen Addison and Filip Gustavsson. So where do they go from here? [The Athletic]
    • Ryan Hartman had a stellar year when he first got put up with Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello on the top line. But last season, that trio just did not pan out, so we should really not see that again.[Hockey Wilderness]

    Off the trail...

    • The Arizona Coyotes terminated the contract of Alex Galchenyuk less than two weeks after pen was put to paper, after the player threatened the life of some police officers and reportedly used racial slurs. [Yahoo Sports]
    • Theoretically, teams would love someone like Patrick Kane on their team and to sign them as a free agent. But it is mid-July and he remains unsigned and without any real heat around his name. Why? [ESPN]
    • Bounceback candidates for the 2023-24 NHL season. [THN]

Why on Kane? Easy, he had hip surgery this summer. It wouldn't be prudent to sign a guy with that type of injury until he was healed. Rumors I've heard is that should be around December.

On Duhaime, it was about 5 days before Duey's arbitration hearing. I thought each side put in their salary numbers at least 7 days prior. Do these numbers get released publicly? Does anyone know where the 2 sides were at?

I don't think they have to release the numbers but Russo seems to be able to sniff that stuff out so maybe we will find out.
