That's Wild
This could have gone much worse in the week leading up to the break of play caused by the 4 Nations Face-Off this week. Without star Kirill Kaprizov and other players needing to step up to replace the amount of offense he provides, the Wild were able to bounce back from two consecutive shutout defeats to the Senators and the Bruins, to have some well-earned victories over the Hurricanes and the Islanders.
Alternatively, if the Wild were suddenly finding themselves sinking and then forced to take a two-week vacation, their play could get even more stagnant and we would all be left wondering if this team even deserves to be in the playoffs. With those two wins, thankfully we don't have to think too hard and now we can all collectively breathe a sigh of relief as we have this break and Kaprizov has two weeks of no Wild games that he has to actually miss.
- After the Wild claimed Vinnie Hinostroza, the forward has played fairly well. Acquiring him was an easily one-to-one connection with Ryan Hartman serving his 10-game suspension -- but if the newest member of the Wild can provide even more than the currently suspended player can, why is Hartman here?
