Minnesota Wild star winger Matt Boldy is doing it all at the IIHF World Championships over in Czechia right now. As one of the go-to offensive contributors on Team USA, the 23-year-old is taking the opportunity and running with it. He is scoring just simply, a boatload of points.
You read that right. Among some of the best players in the world representing their countries, Boldy has scored six goals and 14 points in seven games. This also includes a six-point performance against Kazakhstan over last weekend.
Now, what does this team-leading production mean for the Wild next season? Well, we already knew that Boldy will have to do close to the same as the main player that is not named Kirill Kaprizov, to lead the offense and potentially grow into an even more dominating two-way player. Can Boldy score over a point per game in the NHL next season? This should surely build his confidence to do so.
That's Wild
- The Wild have a conundrum in between the pipes. They have Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury signed and ready, but top prospect Jesper Wallstedt is arguably the best goaltender outside of the NHL and could be ready to make the jump. Therefore, there are Gustavsson trade rumors -- but does that make sense for the Wild? Or should they let Wallstedt have another year in the minors? [Hockey Wilderness]
