The Wild finally managed to string together two wins in a row. Does that mean we can say the Wild have put it to rest at long last? I say yes, if only because the prospect of the Wild entering the playoffs on a string of bad results is too depressing to entertain after last season. Instead, I’ll focus on the fact that they have secured home ice for the first round of the playoffs against either the St. Louis Blues or the Nashville Predators. Promotions for a series against the Blues would write themselves with the Wild facing off against their old head coach. Nashville would be fun just because Predators fans rank only behind the Count of Monte Cristo and Janet Hubert when it comes to holding a grudge.
The Wild will be on the road for the rest of the regular season. I hope that there eventual return meets with more success than the hero of today’s song.
