A penguin appears to be a very cute, lovable creature in nature. As a flightless bird that waddles about, slides on its stomach, and protects its eggs by simply standing in the blistering cold and cuddling with other penguins for months on end, a penguin seems like the type of animal that one would like to befriend.
The hockey-playing Penguins of Pittsburgh, on the other hand, are not birds to be trifled with. They fly, they find creative ways to hurt you, and they are skilled and unrelenting hunters. At the end of the day, it won’t be the Penguins that are laying eggs and sitting on them, but rather the Manbearpigs of Minnesota (which ironically would have to be mammals, right? So... no egg laying?).
Last night’s game was ridiculous. Clearly, the Wild didn’t bring its best effort, but there was no stopping the determined two-time defending Cup winners, led by Sidney Crosby. If the Penguins play like that through the playoffs, we might as well just hand them their third straight Stanley Cup now.
Here’s a quick poll for you...
At least the Manbearpigs can go lick their wounds for a few days now, being that the All-Star break is upon us.
In honor of flying Penguins, Lenny Kravitz takes us through today’s Walk.
