  • Mario Lucia Named Onto USA U20 Roster

    Guest

His season started off bleak, with a serious leg injury that had many (including me) worried about his future. Considering he is still considered a raw prospect, receiving a leg injury is never good news.

But, after missing three months of play, and just nine games played this season, Lucia still managed to impress and find a spot on the USA roster.

Lucia is not a bottom six type of player or your typical grinder, so it will be very interesting to see where he finds himself on the talented team.

Will be play alongside Alex Galchenyuk and Sean Kuraly like reported by http://unitedstatesofhockey.com during the USA-Sweden exhibition game? If he does, it will be a great experience for him and Wild fans to see Lucia play on the international stage with skilled offensive players like Galchenyuk and Kuraly (Galchenyuk being the 3rd overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and Kuraly scoring 70 points in just 54 games last season in the USHL).

With names like Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle, and Jason Zucker stealing the headlines, Mario Lucia will finally get his chance to shine, and shine he will.
