The Iowa Wild took their first win of the season, and the first of the Derek Lalonde era. The newcomers for the season played a large part in the victory with Sam Anas scoring to make it a 2-2 game at 7:03 in the 3rd and Alex Tuch being the first star even though he didn't score any points. Tuch did score the game winner in the shootout. Zach Mitchell also had a big game with a goal and an assist which lead to him being chose as the 2nd star. Manitoba's Quinton Howden scored both their goals and was the 3rd star. Zach Palmquist had an assist on both Iowa goals and Christopher Bertschy had one as well. Steven Michalek was in net for the Wild and had 32 saves on 34 shots while Ondrej Pavelec had 35 saves on 37 shots for the Moose.
The Wild went 2 for 11 on the powerplay and were perfect on the penalty kill through 8 penalties.
