The Iowa Wild took their first win of the season, and the first of the Derek Lalonde era. The newcomers for the season played a large part in the victory with Sam Anas scoring to make it a 2-2 game at 7:03 in the 3rd and Alex Tuch being the first star even though he didn't score any points. Manitoba's Quinton Howden scored both their goals and was the 3rd star. Zach Palmquist had an assist on both Iowa goals and Christopher Bertschy had one as well. Steven Michalek was in net for the Wild and had 32 saves on 34 shots while Ondrej Pavelec had 35 saves on 37 shots for the Moose.
