This season, Chuck Fletcher felt that Gillies deserved a reward for being a beast in Houston last season, much to the delight of many in Minnesota. However, his game has crashed again, and he simply no longer deserves the spot on the big club. There are too many guys in Houston willing to show the hunger and drive that Gillies has apparently lost.
If this is the last of Colton Gillies in the Wild organization, we wish him well. If he is headed for Houston, we hope he finds his game and the passion to be an NHLer that somehow was lost along the way.
