  • 2020 NHL Trade Deadline Open Thread

    Guest

It’s time, ladies and germs. The 2020 NHL trade deadline is officially here. It’s going to be an extremely busy day around the NHL, but it may be particularly busy for the Minnesota Wild. After their 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Sunday, it wouldn’t be surprising if general manager Bill Guerin chooses to make some pretty zesty moves.

Two players generating some buzz are defensemen Matt Dumba and Jonas Brodin. Dumba has garnered some interest from the Maple Leafs, and Brodin could theoretically be included in a trade involving Florida Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck. But neither of those moves are guaranteed to happen, of course. Guerin will not pull the trigger on a trade unless it’s an obvious win for his team. And with almost all of Minnesota’s roster staying on the payroll through at least next season, Guerin has the freedom to wait until the offseason to make a big trade. Even still, it’s going to be a big day even if the Wild make zero trades.

We’ve created this thread to be your hub for all the news throughout the day. Buckle your seatbelts, join us in the comments and enjoy the action.
