The Minnesota Wild are not looking very good, right now. Now an even 2-2-0 to start the season, the wins have not felt very good (except maybe the shutout win against the Panthers in the very first game) and the losses have felt terrible. Both losses come against teams that managed to score seven goals against this supposedly defensively elite team.
Now, the Wild host the miserable Columbus Blue Jackets. Their 2000 expansion partners are not supposed to be winning many games this season, but this team, through their multiple successful drafts and some free agency fortitude, have some power players.
Johnny Gaudreau is leading a group of forwards that could reach their potential at any time. And even their blue line ain't that bad with Zach Werenski, Damon Severson, Ivan Provorov, and young phenom David Jiricek. This could be kind of go either way, even if Columbus is not supposed to be good.
