Our nightmare is over! Jared Spurgeon is back on the ice and in the lineup for our Minnesota Wild!

The captain is back on the road to face the Buffalo Sabres, in a fairly interesting game in a vacuum. The Wild are essentially back to full health, Zach Bogosian makes his second appearance for the team in a hopefully more even game, another night of Marco Rossi as the top center, and we get to see a couple familiar faces.

Jordan Greenway and Tyson Jost (remember when he was on the team?) will be hosting their old teammates in a battle between two middling clubs.

Both the Sabres (6-6-1) and the Wild (5-6-2) are below where they want to finish at the end of 82 games. Projected to come into the playoffs as a Wild Card team or potentially even higher, both hockey clubs are hoping to reach higher heights compared to the middle ground where they are currently situated. No one wants to be in the mushy middle but these two teams haven't hit their groove quite yet.

For the Wild, they are just getting their team together for the first time this year. For the Sabres, they are still dealing with ongoing injuries -- Eric Comrie, Jack Quinn, Mattias Samuelsson, Zach Benson, Brandon Biro, and our friend Alex Tuch are all out with various ailments -- so they can blame the lack of success on that, for now.

It might be a stalemate type of game, or it might be a barnburner. Anything is possible in this quasi reunion between two similar hockey teams.

Well guys and gals, 1-3 on the road-trip with 2 straight L’s isn’t great. Execution is what it came down to tonight, allergic to finding the back of the net and a careless mistake to give up the GWG. Cap’n about tied it up but got a post.

HUGE game Sunday. Wild are going to have to bring it, feels like a must win game early in the season to turn it around. Wild keep f’n around the Stars will run them out of the X.
