The games really matter now. After 82 grueling matches and a season where the Minnesota Wild had to deal with injured stars, scoring slumps, and the highs and lows of high expectations, the first round of the playoffs have arrived. Now, they have to face a team that is going to be a substantial test in the Dallas Stars.

It is star vs. star with Kirill Kaprizov going up against Jason Robertson in this series, as well as two teams reliant on a defense-first mentality, and have had outstanding goaltending. This is less of a playoff round and more of two rams just headbutting each other on a cliff face.

The Wild might have the upper hand with the blue line depth, but the amount of talent stretched through the 12 Stars forwards might prove to not only push them to a series win here, but all the way if everything goes right.

But, it's one game at a time and it all starts with Monday's puck drop.

    Projected Wild lineup

Kirill Kaprizov -- Ryan Hartman -- Mats Zuccarello
Marcus Johansson -- Frederick Gaudreau -- Matt Boldy
Gustav Nyquist -- Sam Steel -- Marcus Foligno
Brandon Duhaime -- Connor Dewar -- Ryan Reaves

    Jake Middleton -- Jared Spurgeon
    Jonas Brodin -- Matt Dumba
    Jon Merrill -- Brock Faber

    Filip Gustavsson
    Marc-Andre Fleury

    Projected Stars lineup

Jason Robertson -- Roope Hintz -- Joe Pavelski
Jamie Benn -- Wyatt Johnston -- Evgenii Dadonov
Mason Marchment -- Max Domi -- Tyler Seguin
Radek Faksa -- Luke Glendening -- Ty Dellandrea

    Ryan Suter -- Miro Heiskanen
    Esa Lindell -- Jani Hakanpaa
    Thomas Harley -- Colin Miller

    Jake Oettinger
    Scott Wedgewood

Espn is horrible, "There may have been a time when Benn was the toughest guy on the ice, but now that Reaves is on the ice..." Jamie Benn was never the toughest guy on the ice, sorry. I have been watching hockey for long time for a young guy (since 2000). Benn has been feisty, but never on the level of guys like Reaves with regard to toughness.

We need a solution on draws, especially on the PK.  Both draws lost clean, back of the net it goes.

And hey everyone! Probably won't be here for the 3rd, old eyes don't do well looking at a computer screen and then up at the tv 😵

Looks like he's close to returning, though.

Gonna need him...despite certain Wild fans jokes that he doesn't show up in the playoffs and forget he was probably their best player in COVID playoffs.

Absolutely. He was really good against the Knights as well, just couldn't buy a goal.

Ah, man, I disagree with Boucher that the Wild don't have enough talent. They have talented player, and maybe enough to compare to Dallas.

Stars are deeper. Wild have the edge in the superstar (KK97) and defense...but that's about it IMO. Even when Ek comes back I think the Stars still have a significant edge. But this is the NHL playoffs and we know how these things go.

Given the way the Stars fans have made Dumba the villain...I hope the Wild home crowd gives Sutes the business. Should be Domi or someone else, but f' Suter...and this coming from a guy that didn't want him bought out.

I guess I missed what Suter has done in this game? But I like making jokes about him being old. Lol.
