Article: Wild Trade Brandon Duhaime To the Avalanche

Perfectly fine move. Took advantage of a market that has almost no one to speak of. Anytime you get a decent draft pick for a guy on-track for a six-goal season, you're coming out ahead.

And an expiring contract on a guy we likely wouldn't re-sign.

Duhaime was hitting UFA status at the end of the season. Wild could easily pick him back up with a competitive offer. If not he’ll be getting his top dollar on a team he chooses to sign with. The Dewey saga will live on.

Hoping Dewey the best...fun to watch while he was here.  Spark plug, who was always skating hard and always gave a good sound bite.

That being said, man, Colorado has sure been active this TDL.  Middlestad, Walker, Duhaime all on top of picking up Parise mid season as a FA.

Duhaime was only going to get you so much. Speed, PK, and energy.  Well, Khusnutdinov is 5 years younger, probably going to meet or exceed Duhaime's career point total in a season (one can hope), and they get a mid-round asset for the trouble.  Win win.

It was fun having him here, but the time had come.

Maybe if BG says this is Beckman's opportunity, he'll mean it this time. Go AB.

Maybe Beckman will earn more this time, or perhaps Khusnutdinov will take his place once he's up to speed and he'll be heading back to Iowa.

It would be nice to see him do well. Hopefully the next time Beckman puts the puck into an NHL net, the referees will not waive it off again.

Last time he was called up BG said it was his opportunity. Didn't hit the ice once. It would be hard to believe he didn't see the ice because of how he practiced if that was his opportunity. He had been hot in IA. just before the callup.

Good move by Wild. I like Duhaim and hope he will get good raise in off season. I think he can produce more on offense but it does not matter for Wild anymore.

i hope with this spot available now we will be looking to improve our second and third lines and not to replace him with the similar guys on the forth line.

I always liked Duhaime's tenacity.  Unfortunately his production just wasn't there.  Unlikely we would have signed him in the off season.  It's a good move.  Opens up a spot for other players.

I hope Beckman gets substantial time on the ice... and Rossi.   Those young guys need lots of ice time.

I'm sad to see Duhaime go, but have to agree with the results.  I hope he gets paid this off-season.  Haha, I almost typed in laid.

I absolutely loved how he took a spot on the final roster and never looked back.

I can't imagine we'd see a Dewey-on-Dewey fight, would we?

Maybe they act like they're getting in a fight then rock, paper, scissors to determine a winner?

Beckman's not shown anything in the times he's been called up.  Same with Walker.  I don't think either of them will end up being more than Lettieri or Lucchini level players, but I'd be glad to have them prove me wrong.

If last night's game was any indication, Beckman makes Johansson look like an all star.  He seems timid.  That, and it's usually a good idea if you're supposedly a sniper and you put at least a shot on goal in a game.

This is my eye test on Beckman each time he’s been up.  It’s always been explained away by apologists that he’s hurt or not put in situation to succeed.  Expectations for Beckman have been dialed down.  I see Swedish spritzer no check league in his future
