I am very much in favor of different goal songs based upon 2 different factors: who scored it and what the situation is on the ice. 

I don't think the audio guys use the game situation enough in determining their song selection. Sometimes, it seems like they simply mail it in. Like if you're getting blown out 5-0 and score late in the 3rd, does a goal song even need to be played? If an empty netter is scored, a different feeling needs to be expressed, not a normal goal song. Rivalry games need a different sort of intensity. 

I'm not going to go into detail with who gets what song, but I am in favor of at least certain players getting specific music. In The State of Hockey, we should be proactive here, having the best celebrations in the league (for the fans). 

What's more, I really liked the Storm Surge idea in Carolina. While most are pretty cheesy, it was a real good idea for the fans. But, this franchise should be the leader in this department, especially if you want the label.

In the old HW we had many conversations about individual goal songs. This needs to happen.

Love the concept.  Could do without most of the NOW! That’s What I Call Music, Cracker Jack box, made for radio, pop-punk songs listed, but I like the idea.

The audio guys for the Wild put a ton of thought into the songs.  There was a report on how they operated during COVID, how they choose music, how they handled the simulated fan noise, etc.  Interesting stuff.

The problem is they’re limited (this wasn’t in the report, but knowing how these things work).  They have to follow orders from the internal operations departments.  It can be heard on the radio and TV, so there are FCC implications.  It’s considered public broadcast with licensing and royalty implications.

Its much more complex than picking a favorite song from a playlist on an iPod.  There are multiple hoops to jump through.

When you listen to the players in interviews and profiles they indicate their music preference. Sounds like the Wild locker room is dominated by a lot of country, but it obviously will be transitioning with the youngens coming up. 

Some of music played at the X is not my cup of coffee, but this aspect is very interesting in the detail you relayed. It's always nice to broach a topic off the path.
