Perspective context for the ‘22 Wild?

If any of you have Netflix, I recommend watching  Quarterback. I have a whole new level of appreciation for the three QBs, but also for athletes trying to get ready for the next game at that level. Makes me wonder how much Zucc, Kaprizov, JEEK, Foligno, and co. were really dealing with, especially come playoff time.  Just to hear them articulate their experiences paints a better picture. All those cross checks, blocked shots, body checks, punches, etc.; That’s just some unimaginable punishment day in day out.

Totally! Lots of luck involved too but ties back into the question about size, durability, toughness. Do little Euro guys absorb damage well and play through? Do advanced stats have categories for stuff like this that has nothing to do with puck possession or offense generation?

Since when did hockey become purely rankings and metrics and statistical analysis? Who keeps track of Gordie Howe hat-tricks, sticking up for the team, and who has the most guts? Look at Edmonton, they've got the best player. Look at Stone, the guy isn't just ugly, his skating isn't much to look at either and he was a 6th round pick maybe? Winner though, and always ending up in the biggest moments.

I agree that you sometimes need to step back and take a different view of things. Hockey players are always banged-up by the end of the year but the Wild are gonna have to have an answer for it. Depth or playing through injuries is just part winning formula.
