That's Wild
The Minnesota Wild moved around some players on their roster, placing forwards Ben Jones and Devin Shore on waivers. But, unlike most straightforward waiver placements, the Wild aren't necessarily reassigning both forwards down to the AHL.
Per The Athletic's Michael Russo, the Wild are not automatically sending both forwards down to Iowa. Rather, this waiver placement just gives the team more flexibility when Kirill Kaprizov and Jakub Lauko are ready to return from their current injuries. If a player is ready to come back in the next 10 games (or 30 days), Shore and Jones can be sent down without having to go on the waiver wire.
It's just a paper move that gives the team much more flexibility on the roster.
