The Minnesota Wild are in an interesting spot on Friday night, during the first round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. With 13th overall, the Wild should get a fairly good player fall right into their laps who could ultimately help establish even further, this young core that GM Bill Guerin is slowly building.
But, should they be more active? There will be plenty of trades made, so should the Wild be involved? Are they going to add some potential roster pieces, or shed some current players on the draft floor? Or are they going to stand pat, take their handful of selections, and then carry on to an inactive free agency? Probably the latter.
The picks the Wild have this weekend are:
Round 1, 13th overall
Round 2, 45th overall
Round 4, 110th overall
Round 5, 140th overall
Round 5, 142nd overall
Round 6, 174th overall
Should be fun!
That's Wild
We went a little nutty writing about the upcoming Draft, here at Hockey Wilderness, so read up and get informed on the latest class and specific prospects that could be Wild players soon enough:

- How can the Wild trade up in the first round, and should they do it?
- Michael Brandsegg-Nygard fits the Wild's mantra perfectly

- Is any 2024 draft pick worth Marco Rossi?
- Current Wild prospect Riley Heidt has a connection with 2024-eligible winger Terik Parascak. Should the Wild keep that live?
- No matter what, the Wild can land a bona fide stud at 13th overall
