The Minnesota Wild have had a busy couple of weeks but they might not be done. According to TSN's Chris Johnston on Tuesday's episode of Insider Trading, the Wild might just be one of the few teams who are looking into signing unrestricted free agent forward Jack Roslovic.
Roslovic is an interesting case. He has been linked to several teams but still remains unsigned with the season started. Whether it was waiting to get a better deal than whatever he was being offered or the right team to be sending him a contract, it appears that he's lost some opportunity to be on a roster for the opening days of the season.
So, could the Wild get a potential deal on a forward who just had a career year? Maybe. As Johnston mentions, Minnesota could use a forward after the injuries to Mats Zuccarello and Nico Sturm, and relying on players like Vinnie Hinostroza to be part of the replacement.
The Wild have over $3.5 million in cap space according to PuckPedia, so something could be worked out if they're interested. There is also space on the roster with them having 13 forwards but with recently recalled youngster Hunter Haight and the potential of Hinostroza being a healthy scratch.
We'll see where it goes.
