That's Wild
- Marc-Andre Fleury is heading out to join Team Canada at the IIHF World Championships after the Minnesota Wild were knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Of course the obvious reason is that he is reuniting with his longtime teammate Sidney Crosby, who is also rare to see at these tournaments, and even being coached by former Wild bench boss Dean Evason, along with surely many other former teammates. But, there is something he can do to throw away any doubt that he is heading to the Hockey Hall of Fame: If Canada wins this tournament he will be part of the hallowed Triple Gold Club, having won an Olympic gold, a Stanley Cup, and a World Championship gold. - With the most significant portion of the Suter and Parise buyouts coming to an end, will the Wild have wasted a good crisis? They had excuses to overachieve or excuses to completely focus on more of a rebuild. Instead, they got knocked out in the first round every single year. [Hockey Wilderness]
- If Marco Rossi is going to get traded, there is one young Montreal Canadiens prospect who should be part of the return. [Hockey Wilderness]
Off the trail...
- The New York Islanders of all teams won the Draft Lottery Monday night and will now be selecting first overall at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. [NHL.com]
- Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz got elbowed in the head maliciously by Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett during Game 1 of the second round Monday night. He suffered a probable concussion and head to leave the arena on a stretcher after vomiting. Not a good sign. So, what does that mean for the Leafs' goaltending future? [The Athletic]
