    That's Wild

    • Marat Khusnutdinov has put all of his ducks in a row after signing his Entry-Level Contract with the Minnesota Wild. All the paperwork has been signed and checked and on Monday, he got his first taste of an NHL practice. Here's how that practice went: [The Hockey News]
    • The trade deadline saw the Wild part ways with Brandon Duhaime, Pat Maroon, and Connor Dewar, and received zero roster players in exchange. So, where does the lineup now stand having made those deals? [Hockey Wilderness]
    • How Khusnutdinov is preparing for his NHL debut, and linking up with fellow Russian, Kirill Kaprizov. [The Athletic]

    Off the trail...

    • How the trade deadline shaped the future for each team. From getting cemented as the Stanley Cup favorites, to securing their fate to being at the top of the draft lottery. [ESPN]
    • Matt Rempe has been going around fighting just about anyone. The 6-foot-7 minor-leaguer should not really be that known to the casual hockey fan, but his antics in some fisticuffs has caused quite a stir. Well, as his Rangers faced the Devils on Monday night, he went ahead and added a terrible head-hunting hit to his resume. [TheScore]
    • Six trades that should have happened at the NHL's trade deadline last week. Lots of talent were in the trade rumors and not a whole lot moved. [Bleacher Report]

Is this a secret message that Thomas doesn't think we see Dino tonight, but the debut will be against the Ducks? If so, clever writing!

I typically chooze to ignore proper spelling and pronunciation for hockey guy names... I know we're supposed to say hooz. Hoos-nu-dee-nov, but man Knudi is so much nicer.(nu-dee)

The players are calling him "Hoots" I guess. Okay not bad. You don't get to pick your own nickname or decide which one sticks but my experience was the Euro or Russian guy got the simplest, shortest one with no creativity or innuendo.

Now that Minnesota Maratified it, lets hope we see a debut in the desert.

Next prospect, please step up to the line.  Let's go K-nut.  On the nights he mails it in I'll call him Nut Job or K-mart.

    K-fabe if he goes full-Euro... :classic_biggrin:

MN Wild Marat sitcom, "Hooz the Boss".

When you wanna catch a lunker this Summer, maybe tie on a Marat-tle-trap.

What needs to be done when you have a problem with Predators or Coyotes? Feed em some Marat-poison.

Question for the season ticket holders: Have you noticed any changes or adjustments to the game day experience this season, lately?

One thing I was hearing during the TNT broadcast was how much they liked our 3rd jersey. If OCL needs to gain some jersey sale numbers, switching to the '78s, or even the '80s would give him a huge boost in sales.

I've said it before, but sometimes things need to change visually just to let people know things have changed. Changing the jersey is a very visual representation of changing times for the organization. This is stuff you can control. If the floodgates open for the kids, that change in scenery is probably a good thing for the fans.

The amount of non-Wild fans on Reddit and elsewhere going "Oh God, those green and gold's are sharp as hell." is no accident.  They are very distinct, and I love how they pop off the screen when added in with the green and gold touches on TV broadcasts.

I'm not saying all green and gold Wild merch or stuff is 100% better than hunter green, but man, but it is a welcome re-addition.

It's kinda like two different genres. You got the classy suit and you got the spiffy duds for the night out on the town. Or perhaps a musical analogy. There's some classical scores that are refined and appreciated. Then you put on something funky and everyone's head starts bobbing.

Hate to say Dallas has the good black & electric green that's very good too.

If Ek is out, Knudi would be in seems like. Wonder how serious on Ek?

The Wild need every point so can't overlook Anaheim and choke.

Hartman looks like he'll probably get 20 goals again.

Faber to become second leading points for a Wild rookie after #97 ahead of Boldy.

Yurov getting some solid playoff experience.

The Wild can make the playoffs or not, but we don't have to spiral into division and negatively. Guerin is an asshole according to the former office guy and he says mean stuff. It's almost like another situation where the guy with the meanest tweets sure got a lot of grief but was what is best for leading a large organization like a country. The alternative could easily have been worse and there's no guarantee the Wild would be better off.

Wait a minute, I'm suggesting the Wild go green (and gold) new deal! It will be fun and not cost nearly as much!

In all seriousness, though, I do think making the '78s or '80s (everyone has to buy new jerseys) as the primary jerseys would help out the Wild bottom line for a season. Plus, it looks better and sends the message that we're changing. Then we can go with something a little different with the 3rd jersey if we want to. The main thing is that nobody is using those colors in the NHL right now, so they are unique.

Is there anyone here who has a psychology background and can attest to the visual changing of scenery?
