That's Wild
Kirill Kaprizov was back for the Minnesota Wild for three games, after missing action for a month, but it looks like he will be out for at least another month. Announced by the team on Tuesday, the Wild's star winger will be undergoing surgery and will be out a minimum of four weeks, with the timeline looking closer to six weeks.
“It is not a season-ending injury, but it will put him on the shelf for the next little while,” Wild general manager Bill Guerin said Tuesday. “We’ve been down this road before, and it’s unfortunate.
“I mean, Kirill was having a Hart Trophy-type of season. It’s disappointing for him. It’s disappointing for us too."
To make some of the roster and cap work, the Wild placed Jonas Brodin on LTIR and Kaprizov on IR. This is all for the Wild to have an extra forward on the upcoming Canadian road trip, as Minnesota continues to attempt to navigate minimal cap space.
