It makes sense that the Minnesota Wild are most likely not bringing back depth blueliner Alex Goligoski on a new deal, as the veteran is headed for unrestricted free agency this summer. But according to one report, the longtime NHL defenseman might be hanging up his skates for good.
According to The Fourth Period's Anthony Di Marco, Goligoski is potentially contemplating retirement.
The 38-year-old played the last three seasons in Minnesota and due to injuries and just not playing well enough, only got in 36 appearances through the 2023-24 campaign. He has played a total of 1,078 career games and has scored 87 goals and 475 points.
