    That's Wild

    • While the Minnesota Wild were crowned the victors on Tuesday night against the Penguins, the game was really all about Marc-Andre Fleury's final appearance in Pittsburgh. The entire city and all of its hockey fans really came together to bid farewell. [Sportsnet]
    • We guess we should go over the actual game, as the Wild came back from a two-goal deficit to clinch a win. [BMTN]
    • And speaking of the Penguins, there is a former Penguin (okay, we probably that is a reach, he's been here for a while) having a very solid season again for the Wild. Frederick Gaudreau was quietly having a good start to the 2024-25 campaign but now, his underlyings are turning into real goals. [Hockey Wilderness]

    Off the trail...

    • Hey, there was a trade. Timothy Lijegren, former first-round pick for Toronto, was sent to the Sharks for a couple mid-round draft picks and a minor-league defenseman. The Leafs just love shedding off talented players, don't they? [Daily Faceoff]
    • The Oilers avoided catastrophe as Connor McDavid will be out with injury for just a couple weeks. [Sportsnet]
    • Every NHL franchise is now worth at least $1 billion in the newest valuation. [Daily Faceoff]

There goes my plan to win the lottery and buy an NHL franchise. ☹️

I don't mind us sending off Fleury into retirement, and there's probably one more big game in Montreal that will be about him. However, these games need to be about picking up 2 points. In Pittsburgh, it seemed like the team really wanted to win for Fleury. Hopefully it will be that way in Montreal too.

Our goal here is playoffs and then a series win, not happy trails.
