    That's Wild

    • Just as the Minnesota Wild's schedule starts to get a little bit more difficult, as they try to remain in the playoffs, goaltender Filip Gustavsson is standing tall and the Wild are getting the best version of him. [The Athletic]
    • With trade rumors swirling, the Wild cannot underestimate the value of having a few very good centers on your team. [Hockey Wilderness]
    • The Wild locked up sizeable and bruising 20-year-old defenseman Steven Loskovar to an entry-level contract. He was drafted by the Wild in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Draft. [BMTN]
    • Wild recalled Liam Ohgren just a day after sending him back down to AHL Iowa, but as the team mentions, now due to the injuries this team currently has, they got him back under emergency conditions. Oh, and defenseman Cameron Crotty is here too. [Wild]

    Off the trail...

    • The teams involved in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs are somewhat decided. The race is on for the Wild Card positions, but we certainly know the possibilities. With that in mind, ranking who the true contenders are of the bunch. [ESPN]
    • In Sunday night's Kings-Bruins game, we almost had a wonderful goalie fight but the refs ruined it. We need clarification because Darcy Kuemper vs. Jeremy Swayman had hype.

    • After being involved in the JT Miller trade, young blueliner Victor Mancini has no bad blood against the Rangers for dealing him out west. [THN]
    • The Montreal Canadiens might make the real, non-COVID playoffs for the first time in a while and the entire city is abuzz. [NHL.com]

Not trading Gus last off-season really helped.

I couldn't have been much more against trading Gus, as regulars here likely would have picked up on with my numerous posts about it. The end of year stats weren't incredible, but there were lots of reasons to anticipate better results this year and he was young enough to develop into a solid #1.

Goose should get a star for the week from last week's play. I was also an advocate of not trading Goose on the low, but waiting for a bounce back.

I'm hoping he continues to see the beachball again.

As for Crotty, this sounds like Bogosian got dinged up. IIRC, I thought Bogo took a follow through to the head and a chop to the hand vs. Buffalo.

Dammit. I hear that he was limping after the last game. Is this another Wild team medical staff screw-up?

Hynes said it was just maintenance.  He was out a long time and they just want to take it slow.  Said he is day to day and will be for a while.

Looking at those 3 stars, Dylan Holloway was one of the guys the Blues offer-sheeted to take away from the Oilers. He's really delivering for them with top 3 points on the team at $2,290,457.

Brogerg is a top 4 defenseman for them as well. Hopefully the Blues don't pass the Wild and they face Winnipeg in the 1st round.

Noticed this too.  That STL GM is looking like a smart guy.
