That's Wild
After a quick pit stop in AHL Iowa after being acquired by the Minnesota Wild this weekend, defenseman David Jiricek has officially been recalled to the NHL and should make his debut for his new team on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks.
While we certainly should not put our opinion of the player post-trade in one single game, it will be incredibly interesting to see how head coach John Hynes has concocted his defensive pairings to fit in the newcomer with sky-high potential. He could be in a more sheltered third-pairing role and get some time on the second power-play unit; or, Jiricek could find himself just thrown into the deep end for the Wild to see if he can float or not.
If he has a bad game, let's just chill and be patient with his development. If he has a superb showing, then the Wild just acquired the greatest defenseman of all time.
