But hey, no big deal, the Wild were looking so good that it looked like they would be rewarded. Especially when they were lucky enough to draw a double minor.
And then American Hero T.J. Oshie scored shorthanded to put the Blues up 2-0.
And then the Blues scored 3 more goals before the Wild remembered that they were at the game, scoring a consolation goal to ruin the shutout for Ryan Miller, and that was pretty much it. Yay, Wild!
Not only did the Wild drop down to .500 on the year (37-26-11), they also failed to capitalize on a valuable opportunity to get separation in the standings these last two days. Losing to St. Louis (however miserable the process is) is expected, but picking up 0 of a 4 possible points hurt the Wild's chances greatly. With Phoenix winning, they are separated by only 1 point. If Dallas wins their two games in hand, the Wild will only be 2 points ahead of 9th place.
On to the Walk.

Mike Yeo on returning with Darcy Kuemper, Dany Heatley and the word "arrogance" | Russo's Rants | StarTribune.com- Sound logic on Kuemper, not so sound on Heatley.
