Just when you thought this second round of the NHL Playoffs couldn’t get any better, Monday night happened. The Washington Capitals finally... FINALLY... broke through to take down their arch nemesis Pittsburgh Penguins, with Alex Ovechkin—the seemingly cursed superstar—playing a key role in his team’s overtime victory.
Meanwhile, in Winnipeg, the defending Western Conference champions proved that they would not go down easily against a Jets team that was ready to blow the roof off of its building and its city. And so, WE HAVE A GAME 7! Winnipeg/Nashville has been such a good series that I simply wouldn’t have it any other way.
The only problem is that we now have to wait until Thursday to see the deciding contest.
Taking us through today’s Walk is the Smashing Pumpkins for no especially good reason.
