    - The trade deadline is here, and the Wild are entering the day fresh off an awful 4-1 loss to the Blues. Surprise, surprise. [Hockey Wilderness]

    - Speaking of the Blues, they will be Minnesota’s opponent in the 2021 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. [Hockey Wilderness]

    - Minnesota will be without Carson Soucy and Luke Kunin for a while as both are recovering from upper-body injuries. [Hockey Wilderness]

    Off the trail...

    - Big trade! The Capitals acquired Ilya Kovalchuk from the Canadiens for a third-round draft pick. [Japers’ Rink]

    - The Lightning decided to go out and sign Zach Bogosian for some strange reason. [Raw Charge]

    - The Red Wings traded Mike Green to the Oilers for Kyle Brodziak’s contract and a conditional draft pick. [Winging It In Motown]

    - Now that Alex Ovechkin has reached the 700-goal mark, all eyes are now on Wayne Gretzky’s record of 894. [ESPN]

    - In case you missed it, the Maple Leafs lost a game to an emergency backup goalie — a 42-year-old Zamboni driver who literally works for the Maple Leafs.
