I baked a delicious upside down cake and hung out with friends yesterday. The recipe uses blueberries and plums, but I substituted a pear for the plum because that's what we had around, and it was still delicious. The real beauty to this cake is the cardamon base. Like a lot of Minnesotans I was raised eating cardamon bread around the holidays, but it isn't a flavor I use much during the rest of the year, and that's a shame.
The Wild play again Tuesday, and hopefully their performance is impressive enough to deserve a cake baked in celebration.
The song of the day is also Cake, because duh. Cake is awesome.
