After a stinker of a game Tuesday, the Wild came out like gangbusters last night, scoring three goals in the first ten minutes of the game, including an absolute beauty from Mikael Granlund to Jason Zucker, a reminder why Bruce Boudreau thinks Granlund is “our best player.” Minnesota had looked very flat in the previous matchup, so seeing it start the game like that and keep it going until pretty much everybody got in on the scoring fun—including Luke Kunin and Zack Mitchell each chipping in with their first respective NHL goals—was a breath of fresh air.
With four more home games on the docket over the next week and change, this could be a jumping off point for Minnesota to start racking up some wins. The defending Stanley Cup champions come to town tomorrow, though, so there’s no time for the Wild to rest on its laurels. Back to work!
Since the Wild brought back that lovin’ feeling, here are the Righteous Brothers, with a little help from Maverick and Goose, to take us through today’s Walk.
