Well, July 4th 2014 wasn't quite as eventful as July 4th 2012. I hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July. As expected, things were pretty quiet on the NHL free agency front. Teams signed the big names on July 1st, but there still are quite a few players that should be offered a contract at some point. 29 teams are still on #HeatlyWatch, and the suspense is almost unbearable. In all seriousness, the offseason is not over, so expect some more signings and possible trades in the coming weeks.
