Wilderness Walk: Fenton Watch?

Since the moment Chuck Fletcher was relieved of his duties as the General Manager of the Minnesota Wild, Nashville’s long-time Assistant GM, Paul Fenton, has been rumored as the frontrunner to take over the role. Minnesota has been in a bit of a holding pattern, though, as it has had to wait for Fenton’s squad to bow out of the playoffs.

After a dud of a Game 7 effort last night, the Predators did just that, meaning that Fenton—assuming the job is actually his, and assuming he wants it—would now theoretically be free to accept the position.

Wild owner Craig Leipold and COO Matt Majka have interviewed a bevy of candidates of varying backgrounds, rightfully doing their due dilligence during this waiting period, but the time has come for a decision.

Methinks it’s going to Fenton, and methinks it happens relatively quickly. What say you, Wilderness?
