  • Wilderness Walk: Almost back to the NHL Edition

    Guest

    Hello again, Wilderness!

Today is a big day for the Olympics, as the USA and Canada mens hockey teams will take each other on in the semifinal to see who will go on to play in the gold medal game against either Finland or Sweden (personally, I think a USA-Finland matchup would be pretty interesting).

As all of you should know, the US and Canada women's hockey teams took each other on yesterday in their final, with Team USA coming up just short of the gold, extending Team Canada's gold medal streak to 4.

Can our men's hockey team redeem us by getting a win over Canada to move on to the gold medal game? We'll see if they can in a little while, starting at 11, live on NBCSN. You can also compliment your viewing experience with our live thread (which will be up an hour before the game), as well as a live thread on the main SBN page.

With the snow storm that hit us last night and into this morning, most if not all of you will probably be able to stay at home and watch this game. If so, enjoy it!

Until then, let's take a little snowy walk...

    Wild News

Minnesota Wild Injury Report: Scandella Skates, Zucker Out - Gone Puck Wild - Man. Zucker is such a great young player, just like Haula. They're saying that he could be out for at least a week, which means that he won't be travelling with the team to Edmonton and Vancouver next week.

Harding's status in question as Wild return from Olympic break - BringMeTheNews.com - We've missed you Harding. Here's to hoping he can get his MS under control and get back to the team again. We haven't missed him too much though as Kuemper has been doing a SPECTACULAR job in his absence.

    Off the Trail

Islanders F Tavares out for year with knee injury - Times Leader - Ouch. This is not good news for Team Canada and the Isles.

Duchene in for Tavares as Canada adjusts - Surrey Leader - It looks like Matt Duchene of the Avalanche will fill in for Tavares for Team Canada in today's semifinal game, centering the 4th line with Patrick Sharp and Rick Nash.

Oilers coach focused on keeping practice interesting - Canoe.ca - With how crappy the Oilers have been doing (as they usually do), I guess this is at least something they could do to keep the team interested...
