Hello, Wilderness!
How's everyone's weekend going so far?
Mine's been going pretty good, because I have my midterm "break" right now for college (I really don't consider it a break as it's just one day off and I already don't have classes on Fridays anyways).
Tonight, the Wild face their first real test of the season with part one of their home-and-home against the mighty Blackhawks.
This first game is at the Madhouse, so it won't be easy for them. Even though I haven't been there (yet), I've just heard that it's without a doubt one of the loudest arenas (if not THE loudest) in all of the NHL.
Couple that with an amazing team, and that makes things even harder.
If the Wild want to even stand a chance against the Hawks over these next 2 games, they are going to have to play their tails off.
Heck, even Alex the Lion from Madagascar knows who to cheer for in this one:

Now let's take a walk, shall we?
Wild News
Wild renews Blackhawks rivalry with two games in three days | Star Tribune - As I said before, these games won't come too easy for the Wild. But, because they are the 3rd best team in the faceoff circle (while Chicago is 13th), these games will be interesting to watch if the Wild can keep up their dominance with puck possession.
Wild: Injured Coyle, Ballard both skate with team - TwinCities.com - They're getting better, but they won't be back for a little while yet.
Tending the Fields
Wild recall Gustafsson | wusa9.com - Since Harding went out with an injury during Thursday night's game, Backstrom will get the nod for starting netminder for the time being, and his backup will be Gustafsson.
Off the Trail
Anaheim Ducks sign goalie Frederik Andersen to two-year extension - NHL.com - Quack quack!
Colorado improves best record in NHL with win over Carolina - UPI.com - What a game it was for the Avs. I actually watched this game too last night. I was hoping that Duchene would have gotten the hat trick. That would have been cool to see.
Blue Jackets spoil David Clarkson's Leafs Debut - CBC.ca - Looks like Clarkson really didn't turn over a new leaf in that game.
Kesler's power-play goal in OT brings Canucks 3-2 win over Blues - UPI.com - Looks like that week off for the Blues didn't help out that much...
Ott, Enroth lead Sabres over Panthers, 3-1 | TheLedger.com - Look at that, the Sabres actually won a game for once.
