There was constant energy, the team consistently pushed against the Kings defense and won. The Kings didn't get many great shots in, and while there was a bit of the typical Wild panic towards the end of the 3rd, the team managed to hold on to the lead.
Niklas Backstorm is back to being tied for 1st in NHL wins after tonight win. After the game he told the media he feels great and loves being able to come and play as much as he has been.
5 Questions
1. Will the Wild continue their streak of playing "hot" goalies? Nope. No hot goalies tonight.
2. Clutterbuck has bben placed on the second line. Does he quiet his nay-sayers by setting up some sweet goals for his line-mates? He didn't even have to set anyone up. He showed he can do it all by himself thank you very much.
3. The leadership in the locker room decided to make Monday's optional skate not so optional. Does it improve their performance? This was one of the best games I've had the pleasure of viewing. As much as I dislike the kings, this would be a great playoff series.
4. The Wild looked life-less for most of the game on Sunday. Does this change? They were breathing life into the fan base. Everyone was having heart attacks from massive energy overload.
5. (obligatory) Does Ryan Suter have another 30 minute game tonight? Yes he did, and Brodin was only 38 seconds from joining him
