The Minnesota Wild face the Pittsburgh Penguins back home at the Xcel Energy Center tonight. You won’t see too many game previews on this blog and I get tired of thinking about "keys to the game" before the game even starts. I think the key to any hockey game is 1. score goals and 2. don’t let your opponent score goals. Whichever team does both 1 and 2 will come out on top tonight.
There is plenty of hype surrounding the game and Minnesota Wild ticket prices were through the roof. Hockey fans are excited to see Penguins Sidney Crosby take the ice in his first appearance in Minnesota. I hope the Wild can get past the prodigal status and play tough hockey tonight. For those fans that don’t understand the Gretzky-hype surrounding this kid, here are the Sidney Crosby Cliffs Notes.
Heading out to the game tonight? Put on your scariest costume because it is Trick or Treat Tuesday at the Xcel Energy Center. Kids 14 and under are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the game and stop by the Community Relations booth at Section 125 prior to the game for trick-or-treating. There will also be a costume contest in which the top three costumes will be brought on ice during first intermission. The grand prize will be an autographed jersey, while the second and third place finishers will receive an autographed puck. I’m going to dress up as Sidney Crosby and hope my pals in Section 108 aren’t dressed as Derek Boogaard. Let’s go Wild!
