  • Wild snap winning streak with loss to Philadelphia Flyers

    Guest

The Minnesota Wild lost to the Philadelphia Flyers last night at the Xcel Energy Center 1-3. The Flyers have been hitting hard lately and were even put on notice by NHL officials to ease up. Even with the warning, the Flyers made some dirty checks and the refs were watching. The Wild had 8 power plays to score on, but only managed one goal when Pavol Demitra deflected a shot into the net. Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom let in some fluky goals and the Wild quickly ended their four game winning streak.

The Wild, currently 5th in the Western Conference standings, now start a five game road trip playing Detroit (1st in Western Conference), Columbus (7th), San Jose (4th), Anaheim (9th) and Los Angeles (15th). The Red Wings are definitely the team to beat in the NHL right now and it would be nice if the Wild could shut them down. The Wild Red Wings game is on channel 45 Friday night and I will be glued to my TV! Go Wild!
