The Minnesota Wild magic number is six...six games left. Currently in third place in the West, the Wild are looking down the barrel of their own division rivals these next two weeks. The Wild have a home and home against the Edmonton Oilers, a home game against Vancouver Canucks, the Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames and a final road game vs the Avs in Denver. That’s exhausting just typing it out.
The next two games vs. the Edmonton Oilers should be helpful to the Wilds standings. The Wild are 4-1-1 against the Oilers this season and Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom is undefeated vs. the Oilers even though there was that weird game where Lemaire pulled Backstrom out and Harding finished the contest. Anyway, I hate to say this should be easy points for the Wild for fear of jinxing it, but seriously, the Wild should be ready to step up to the line and play NHL playoff style hockey and win. Go Wild!
