The Minnesota Wild ended their four game winning streak Friday night when they lost to the St Louis Blues in St Louis. The Wild brought a slew of young players to Scott Trade Center and one of them got the chance to make an impression on the Wild management team...James Sheppard. Mr. Sheppard made an assist on the goal of Pierre-Marc Bouchard in the second period. In fact, Sheppard played really well the entire night. Sheppard is only 19 years old and he used his youthful speed and agility to move all over Scott Trade Center, but it wasn’t enough to push the Wild to victory. In fact the third period looked lackluster for the Wild and almost like they were just going through the motions of the preseason match-up. One stat of concern is that the Wild were 0 for 6 on the Power Play . . . not good.
A preseason loss is nothing to lose sleep over , but I know Jacques will be up all night looking over his notes to make those final roster cuts.
