Staying up late to watch the Wild at the Saddledome in Calgary was a waste of good sleeping hours. The Wild lost to the Flames 3-2 and the Saddledome curse continues (Wild are 1-9-2 in their past 12 games at the Saddledome.) Calgary's Jarome Iginla got a lucky goal to tie the game. His shot hit at least two Wild players before sneaking past Niklas Backstrom who looked asleep. Backstrom also let in the game winner with only 53 seconds to go. It was a heart breaking loss - I blame Backstrom - I know the goalie gets thrown under the bus a lot, but this time he deserved it. Both goals were shady and I think he could have stopped them.
It was Minnesota's seventh loss in nine games - ouch. The Minnesota Wild bandwagon is getting to be a lonely place.
