Wild Frustrated as they fall 3-0 in the Series

A lone goal by Patrick Kane in the first period was the decision in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Blackhawks frustrated the Wild as they played a sound defensive game and the Wild couldn't get to the middle of the ice for decent chances on Corey Crawford. Crawford was absolutely stellar as he recorded his fourth career playoff shutout by stopping all 30 shots from the Wild.

It was a line rush on the Hawks' power play where Patrick Sharp sent a rolling puck to the center lane where Andrew Shaw was. Shaw took a sweeping whack at the puck and got it to Kane for a wrist shot that beat Devan Dubnyk five-hole.

Minnesota did get chances as Jason Pominville got the puck alone on Crawford but shot wide. Mikael Granlund had a breakaway and Crawford got the blocker on it. Koivu made a nice play from behind the goal line getting the puck the Nino Niederreiter sitting on top of the Chicago crease.

The Blackhawks just never had any doubt. Even when the Wild pushed as hard as it could in the third period, They stayed patient, kept their sticks in the passing and shooting lanes, and let the Wild kill themselves. By killing themselves, I mean that the Wild kept trying things by making passes across the zone, or back to the blue line, or passing to a shooter that had a worse shooting angle, or...you get the point. The Blackhawks were just better and let the frustration set in on the Wild bench.

The Wild have not led at any point in this series. 00:00. That is the exact amount of time the Wild have had a lead.

There just isn't any excuse for the Wild. They still have not showed any real desperation.
