I will be the first to admit, I don't know much about him, but we reached out to KiPA who told us that Johnson has never really had the chance to prove that he is legit or not. If he is a scoring winger, he was buried in an organization full of them. Of course, we all know Chuck Fletcher and Mike Yeo's history with the Pittsburgh organization, so they obviously know who they are taking here.
Jesse Marshall, another Pittsburgh fan and co-owner of Faceoff-Factor.com said on Twitter:
KiPA was not pleased the Wild took Johnson, so perhaps there is a little something to this. The question is... where does he fit? Being claimed off waivers means he has to stay with the big club, or clear waivers again. Is this a move to fill the final spot on the fourth line? Insurance as the 13th forward?
More as we know it.
