    9. Eden Prairie (7)

    10. Wayzata (NR)

After the jump, key results, the best goal you'll see this year, and some important future match-ups.

    Key Results

Minnetonka 6 Eden Prairie 0- The winner of this game seemed destined to be the first overall seed in Section 6AA. Eden Prairie was playing a little shorthanded, but still, Minnetonka sent a message with this convincing win.

Elk River 5 Maple Grove 3- It's been a crazy week for Elk River. Longtime coach Tony Sarsland abruptly resigned from his position amid an investigation, but has since rescinded his resignation. In Elk River's first game with new head coach Ben Gustafson behind the bench, the Elks gave a spirited performance in a huge upset over Maple Grove. Elk River was seeded fourth in Section 7AA, setting up a potential semifinal clash with #1 Duluth East.

Breck 3 Shattuck-St. Mary's 3- Not really an official game, but an impressive result for Breck.

Wayzata 3 Edina 2-Wayzata had lost five of their last seven heading into this game, including a heartbreaking 4-3 overtime loss to Minnetonka. But the Trojans rebounded and proved that Section 6AA is still a four-team race with an impressive win over an Edina team that has played really well lately.

    Goal of the Year

By now, odds are pretty good you're one of the nearly three-quarters of a million people to watch Detroit Lakes' Alex Mason score an amazing shorthanded goal in a game against Bagley/Fosston. If you're not, you definitely should be. And if you've seen the video, but haven't taken the time to learn about Mason and his commitment to his Native American heritage, you should do that as well.

    Games of the Week

Hibbing/Chisholm at Hermantown, Friday February 17th, 7:30pm, Hermantown Arena

With Minnesota-Duluth out of town for the weekend, this game gives Duluth residents the opportunity to watch two future Bulldogs in Hibbing's Adam Johnson and Hermantown's Jared Thomas.

Wadena/Deer Creek vs. Willmar, Saturday February 18th, 1:00pm, Willmar Civic Center

This will officially be the first game of the Minnesota State High School tournament. 10th seed Wadena travels to 6th seed Willmar in a Section 6A match-up. Section 6A is considered one of the weaker sections in the state. With ten public high schools and no big city private schools, it's the type of schools the Class A tournament was intended for. It's also one of the more wide open sections in the state. One of the only 1 vs. 8 upsets came out of this section.

Moorhead vs. Hill-Murray, Saturday February 18th, 2:30 pm, Aldrich Arena

On the last day of the regular season, Moorhead travels down to the Cities in one final tune-up before their playoff run begins. Moorhead destroyed Brainerd last week and earned the top seed in Section 8AA. If they continue playing like they have, it's very likely they'll be playing 7 miles from Aldrich Arena at the XCel Center in a couple of weeks.
