There is no doubt that Marian Gaborik is the Minnesota Wild's most exciting player. He did score five goals in a Minnesota Wild vs New York Rangers hockey game, setting a Minnesota Wild record. In fact it was the first time in over a decade that a NHL player has had a five goal game! Gaborik scored one goal in the first period, two more in the second and then another pair in the third cementing a 6-3 Minnesota Wild win.
It was a fun game to watch and Marian Gaborik was definitely the nucleus, but perhaps I should have started this post with the sentence: There is no doubt that Marian Gaborik is the Minnesota Wild's most exciting player, when healthy. And he's the Wild’s highest-paid player regardless, with a cap hit of $6.3 million. Gaborik hasn't played a full season since 2002-03, missing a total of 59 games because of a variety of upper-leg injuries and his absence is often what has brought the Minnesota Wild team down to the mediocre level. Come on Gaborik, stay healthy and show us why you make the big bucks! Let’s shoot for another five goal game!
