  • Swarm Vs Rush Recap

    Guest

The Swarm dropped the game to the Edmonton Rush on Saturday 9-14.   The Rush remain undefeated.  The Swarm are now 1-6.

The Swarm did not allow the Rush a single power play goal while they themselves took advantage of being a man up four times.   Callum Crawford had another excellent game, garnering 8 points (2g, 6a).   Jordan MacIntosh netted another hat trick.   Rookie Logan Schuss had two power play goals.  The Swarm did most of their scoring in the fourth period, gathering five of their nine goals there. Zach Higgins replaced Tyler Carlson slightly more than halfway through the game.

The definite plus to the game was Callum Crawford.  Of the nine goals, he was a part of eight of them.   He is presently leading the team in goals (12) assists (19) and points (31).  He is second in shots on goal at 53.  He has 2 shorthanded goals thus far.   Watching him, he's definitely active and involved in everything every time he's out there.

Jordan MacIntosh recorded his second straight hat trick and went 41.7% on faceoffs.  MacIntosh is presently second on the team in points at 26 (11g 15a).  Logan Schuss is continuing to take chances and it's starting to pay off for him.  He leads in shots on net at 59, resulting in 10 goals, putting him third on the team.  His goals are starting to come consistently, so hopefully they'll start increasing in frequency.

Player to watch: #18 Logan Schuss

Following the draft, I did post footage of Schuss on twitter to give y'all an idea of what we were getting.  Schuss was a prolific scorer in college and the MLL.  He's started out slow in the NLL, but he's getting there.  He's definitely taking chances and asserting himself out there.  It's got to start paying off soon.
