The Iowa Wild lost their 4th game in a row and dropped to 5-9-0-1 this season and it's not good. Unfortunately there is no AHL entry draft to tank for so that just makes it worse.
Iowa was beaten 3-1 this time with Teemu Pulkkinen scoring the lone Iowa goal 3 minutes into the first but Ville Pokka then tied the game a minute after the halfway point in the period. Pat Cannone and Zach Palmquist got the assists on the Iowa goal.
Then in the second Tanner Kero gave Rockford the lead 2 minutes in and Sam Carrick scored to make it 3-1 18:39 in and that would be it on the scoreboard.
Iowa got outshot again with Rockford getting 34 shots to Iowa's 31 . Steven Michalek made 31 saves and Alex Stalock is still out, and was confirmed day-to-day with an illness. Ville Pokka got 1st star with his goal and 2 assists, Tanner Kero second star with 1+1 and the Wild's Teemu Pulkkinen 3rd star with his goal.
Rockford was deadly on their PP scoring all 3 goals with the man advantage on just 6 powerplays, and Iowa also scored their lone goal on the man advantage. The Wild had 5 powerplays though.
Teemu Pulkkinen though really looks like one of very few bright spots for Iowa with 3 goals and 4 assists in 7 games.
