Annnnnd we back! After what seem to be an eternity, the Wild are back in action tonight against the most under achieving team for, the last 5 years now? The Edmonton Oilers.
Minnesota sits at 7th in the West and is one point behind LA for the 6th place spot. Darcy Kuemper will make his 13th consecutive start between the pipes. Backstrom sounds like he's healthy and good to go, but may end up starting tomorrow as the Wild are in Vancouver. Don't worry Backs, keep taking that "allergy medication" that's all legal stuff here in Gods country (I think). Granny who kicked some ass in Sochi, will play on the top line with Parise and Pommer tonight, with Koivu expected back by the end of the month. It'll be interesting to see how David Blane, I mean Mike Yeo reshuffles the lines after the captains' return.
Edmonton won five of their last seven down the stretch before Sochi. Yet it's no secret that the Oilers will be sellers at the deadline and our friends over at The Copper & Blue have a nice little transcribe from Oilers GM, Craig MacTavish on the teams status with the deadline looming.
Puck drops in Edmonton at 9:30 eastern time and the game can be watched on Fox Sports North and heard on 100.3 FM KFXN in the Twin Cities.
